| Бока (Давидян Борис Аркадьевич) родился 28 апреля 1949 года в городе Баку Азербайджанской ССР. Отец - Аркадий Вартанович (фронтовик, после войны работал мастером на заводе), мать - Маргарита Артёмовна (биолог). Образование высшее (заочно закончил Ташкентский автодорожный институт). Рано потеряв мать, двор был основным учителем. Музыкой увлёкся еще в детстве (окончил музыкальную школу), в юности играл на гитаре во дворе и подъездах, пел разные песни и его исполнение нравилось многим. Отец играл на мандолине и привёз с фронта много песен. В 5 лет Бока уже пел "Катюшу", в которой были слова: "Вот поспели груши у Катюши, Вот созрел у Гриши огурец...". Бока окончил Ташкентский Автодорожный институт, но его душа лежала к творчеству. Свой дебютный альбом Бока записал в 1972 году. Как рассказывает сам Бока, всё произошло случайно. Его с коллегами музыкантами пригласили выступить на небольшом частном банкете. Через несколько дней запись с этого концерта звучала из окон многих автомобилей, и распространилась по всему городу. Как говорит сам Бока: " Если бы не тот банкет, наверное, ситуация просто повторилась бы. Были и другие банкеты и были люди заинтересованные в том, что бы та запись разносилась из разных уголков". Для кого-то эта запись оказалась прибыльна с точки зрения коммерции. Бока и его музыканты были молоды и очень многого не понимали тогда, но для них появление этой записи, в который были такие песни как: "Холодно", "Доля воровская", "Поздней осенней порой", стала первой ласточкой популярности. В 73-74 годах. Бока в ночное время записывал свои песни на Тбилисской студии грамзаписи "Мелодия". Бока играет на аккордеоне и пианино (клавишных), но после 1974 года при записи альбомов Бока выступал только в качестве вокалиста. Обычно из 10-11 песен на альбоме-9 принадлежат авторству самого артиста. Бока пел достаточно много песен из репертуаров таких мэтров жанра как В.Высоцкий и А.Северный. В связи с этим стоит вспомнить такую историю. Однажды Бока услышал песню Аркадия Северного, где были куплет примерно такого содержания " :мол, есть такой Бока, который выдает копию за оригинал". Бока записал песню, где был ответ "Хоть ты и Северный, но ты не медведь. Задушу как кролика, перестанешь петь". В куплете не было, и не подразумевалось ни злобы, ни каких либо дурных намерении, ни какой либо вызов Аркадию Северному. Но позднее Боку начали терзать мысли, что этим своим текстом он обидел Северного. Зимой 80-года, в одной из компаний, Бока и Аркадий Северный оказались вместе. Бока попросил прощения за свой текст, но Аркадий Северный сказал ему, что нет причин извиняться, тем более нет никакой обиды, и у исполнителей возникла мысль сделать совместный концерт. Но этому не суждено было случиться, в апреле 1980 года Аркадия Северного не стало. В 1987 году Бока проживает в Москве и поёт в ресторане "Помидор". В 1988 году в Америке, приехав туда туристом, Бока записывает знаменитый альбом "Доля воровская". Заглавная песня из этого альбома перепета впоследствии многими музыкантами. Существует несколько вариантов исполнения данной песни, но оригинальной считается версия в исполнении Боки. В начале 1996 году Бока с семьёй живёт в Ереване, а потом переезжает в Москву, где через некоторое время на Сретенке открывает ресторан "У Боки", который, к сожалению, просуществовал всего 2,5 года. В том же 96 году произошла очень неприятная история в жизни Боки, которая послужила поводом переезда в США. В его квартире, выбив дверь, милиция устроила обыск с понятыми, и было найдено оружие, которое артист приобрёл исключительно для самообороны и защиты семьи (у Боки большая семья-дети, внуки) в то смутное время. Было заведено уголовное дело, состоялся суд и Бока получил три года условно, что и послужило в дальнейшем причиной переезда его в США. В 97-98 годах Бока давал много концертов в России и в каждом из них обязательно исполнял песню про Баку.C возрастом, по словам артиста его песни, стали более серьезные, многие из них посвящены Родине и родителям. Именно композиция о родителях - является для него самой любимой из его репертуара. Бока считает, что он смог достичь цель всей своей жизни, его слушают и ждут концертов, а по его словам - это главное. На вопрос, -"Какой момент в жизни Бока хотел бы вернуть?"-, артист отвечает словами своей песни:
Если б тех годов один хотя бы день
Вновь вернётся и станет на пороге,
То затмит мне душу, знаю, его тень.
Я с ума сойду и сна лишусь в тревоге.
Ничего уж больше не вернётся,
Ничего уж больше не воротишь.
Только молодость свою во сне ты встретишь-
А она возьмёт и отвернётся.
В настоящее время Борис Давидян проживает в США в районе Глен Дейл Лос-Анджелеса. Он много гастролирует по миру: Австрия, Турция, Россия. Дружит со многими коллегами-музыкантами. В числе его друзей Михаил Гулько, М.Шуфутинский, Л.Успенская, В.Токарев, А.Могилевский. Один из наиболее близких его друзей-легендарный тяжелоатлет, Олимпийский чемпион, неоднократный чемпион Мира и Европы-Юрий Варданян, которому Бока посвятил одну из своих песен. Много выступал в местах заключения, гастролирует по миру, занимается благотворительностью. В 1996г. был приглашён в прямой эфир на радио "Маяк". В 2000 году Бока принимал участие на открытии христианской церкви в Харькове (Украина). Участвовал в открытии церкви в Бруклине (США). Большой сольный концерт в России состоялся в апреле 2000г. в Московском Дворце молодёжи, который прошёл при полном аншлаге. Ранее, в 1999 г. прошёл большой тур по городам России. Отчёт об этих гастролях вошёл в документальный фильм, состоящий из двух частей. Недавно дал отдельный концерт на армянском телевидении в Лос-Анджелесе. Отрывок из новой песни, переведённый на русский язык: "...Я бы хотел вернуться в Баку, поцеловать эту святую землю, пойти на кладбище, где захоронен мой отец, мои близкие, родные... ". В 2006 г. стал лауреатом фестиваля "Шансон года", проходящем в Москве. Много лет выступал с такими музыкантами как: Александр Багдасаров (кларнет), Эрик Кеворков, Сурен Керопян, Карен Захарян, Игорь Сафаров, великий кларнетист Георгий Агабабов (умер в 1995г.). Борис Давидян снимался в фильмах - "Храм воздуха" Азербайджанфильм 1989 год, "Мерзавец" - Азербайджанфильм 1988 год.
